Day 02: Delhi – Leh
Early morning transfer to domestic airport to catch flight
for Leh. Upon arrival at Leh transfer to hotel. The day is
for acclimatization. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Leh – Shey – Thiksey
- Hemis
On this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient
monasteries in this area.
Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used
to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are
lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace
was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17’Th
century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni
Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa.
Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms
from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most
beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order.
Hemis, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one
of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs
to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th
century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled
in a lovely valley, surrounded by streams and fronted by long
Mani walls. Overnight stay at the guest house.
Day 04: Leh – Panamik
In the morning after breakfast we will drive to Panamik via
Gangles village, then crossing over Khardong La. Enter Nubra
valley and then along the Nubra River camp at Panamik.
Day 05: Panamik - Ansa – Panamik
Morning visit Ansa monastery on a hilltop across the Nubra
River. Afternoon visit Panamik village & the hot springs.
Overnight stay
Day 06: Panamik - Kyagar - Samstanling
- Sumur – Diskit
Drive to Diskit enroute visit Samstanling monastery &
sumur monastery Overnight camp at Diskit.
Day 07: Diskit - Hunder – Diskit
Morning drive to Hunder & visit the Monastery. Later explore
the town of Diskit, headquarter of Nubra.
Day 08: Diskit – Leh
Leave Diskit after breakfast. Arrive Leh in the evening. Overnight
at hotel.
Day 09: Leh
In the morning after breakfast visit Phyang, Spituk and Stok
Museum. Overnight stay.
Day 10: Leh –Delhi
In the morning after breakfast take an early morning flight
to Delhi. Arrive and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 11: Depart Delhi
Drive to airport to catch onward flight according your flight
schedule.
